Willamette Valley, Oregon is less than an hour from downtown Portland and is ripe with great restaurants (restaurant info here) and beautiful rolling countryside dotted with hundreds of vineyards. Pinot Noir is the prized grape in the area, but there are many others growing, putting Willamette Valley on the map of strong wine contenders.
